About Virginia Sophia Beste
Virginia S. Beste, 61, of Krakow died Saturday, April 30, 1988 at St. John's Mercy Hospital. Mrs. Beste, the daughter of the late Paul and Martha Peters, nee Parmentier, was born September 25, 1926 in Washington. She was baptized at St. Francis Borgia Church in Washington and confirmed at St. Gertrude Church in Krakow. She grew up and received her education in Washington. October 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to Aloys P. Beste and to this union three children were born. Mrs. Beste worked at St. Francis Hospital as a nurse's aide until her retirement. She was an active member of the Elk's Ladies Auxiliary and the St. Gertrude's Ladies Sodality. Survivors include one daughter Linda Weiss and husband of Leawood, Kansas; two sons, Jerry Beste and wife Janice Beste of St. Charles, and Galen Beste and wife Mary of Washington, one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Tobben and husband James Tobben of Washington; four brothers, Virgil Peters and wife Mary of St. Charles, Eldo Peters and wife Rita of Washington, Richard Peters and wife Lavern of St. Peters, and Dr. Dennis Peters and wife Betty of Osage Beach, six grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A funeral service was held Monday, May 2 at St. Gertrude's Church in Krakow with Father Robert Argent officiating. Internment was in St. Gertrude's Cemetery under the direction of Cedervalley Memorial Chapel.
