Life Legacy

Virginia Clem passed away March 22, 2012. She was born January 15, 1920, in Toppenish to J. Arthur and Hazel (Murphy) Patterson. She graduated from Wapato High School in 1937.

Virginia and Everett Clem were married May 10, 1941. They lived in Bremerton until 1952 when they moved to the Yakima Valley where they lived the rest of their lives. Virginia was a homemaker and partner with Everett in their farming business in the Roza District near Zillah.

She was preceded in death by her husband Everett, her daughter Diana L. Pacheco, and brothers Lynn and Don Patterson. She is survived by her son William (Bernice) of Yakima, six grandchildren, Mike Pacheco, Trina (Gary Delaney), Aimee (Dustann Jones), Sarah (John McKenney), Matt Clem and Chris (Kelly) Clem, and two great-grandchildren, Molly and Emily, her sister Mary Lou (Fred) Stoops, sisters-in-law, Helen and Donna Patterson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service is scheduled for April 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at West Hills Memorial Park, near Yakima. Memorials may be made to Yakima Memorial Hospice.

Our sincere thanks for the loving care given by Jacque, Sue, Steph, Destiny, Amber, Barb, Jennifer, Leslie, Channel, Daelen, Karissa, Blu and Dan and staff at Peach Tree Retirement Center. And also our sincere thanks to the Hospice team for the special care given her during her last few months.

Virginia Mae Clem, 92, of Yakima died Thursday at home. Mrs. Clem was born in Toppenish and had also lived in Bremerton. She farmed in the Roza District in Zillah.

Survivors include a son, William E. Clem; a sister, Mary Lou Stoops, both of Yakima; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. April 14 in West Hills Memorial Park.
