About Virginia Mae Mercer
Virginia's parents were Leroy John Kidd (1898-1981) and Evelyn N Millen (1900-1966). Her sibling was Capt Donald Leroy Kidd. Virginia graduated from Stadium High School, Tacoma, Washington in 1939. In high school she was on the Senior Honor Roll, was a hike leader, member of Triple S, Girls Cabinet, Stadiana, activity manager, shorthand and typing certificates, first place in shorthand and typing at Washington state contest, second place in speed and helped stencil music. Virginia married Thomas Turner Mercer. Together they had three children, billionaire Robert Leroy Mercer, Randall Wayne Mercer and Sally Ann Mercer. Virginia was living in Sarasota, Florida taking care of her husband who had severe brain deterioration from disease. March of 1993 she went to visit her daughter Sally in St Peters, Pennsylvania. Another car hit a patch of ice and ran into them. Virginia died and Sally was injured. Virginia's husband Thomas Turner died two weeks later in Florida.
