Vitaline Forest

Marie Vitaline Foret was born May 23, 1824 in L'Assomption, Quebec, Canada. Her father Simon was a farmer in L'Assomption. Her mother was Marie Archambault. Godparents were Louis Bricault and Marie Julia Foret. Neither the father nor the godparents were able to sign their names.

July 21, 1827, Vitaline's father Simon Forest dies in L'Assomption and is buried on July 23.

October 24, 1843: 19 year old Vitaline marries Seraphin Poitras.
Marriage of Seraphin Poitras adult son of Joseph Poitras and Therese M....n?, of this parish, and Marie Vitaline Foret (sic) minor daughter of the late Simon Foret and Marie Archambault of this parish. Present were Joseph Poitras, Edouard Poitras and ? Poitras brothers of the groom, and Simon and Antoine Foret brothers of the bride. The bride and groom could both sign their names.
