Barnes of Beach Lake met with a peculiar accident. He was alone in the woods and saw a tree he thought ought to be cut down, so he did it. The tree fell on his foot, severing the little toe. He managed to get released from the tree, left the little toe in the woods, someway reached his automobile and motored home. From there he was taken to Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, for treatment and is still at the hospital. His foot is healing and he expects soon to return home. No one should go in the woods alone. 11Sep1928 Dr. Otto Appley has been president of the Sunday School Association for several years and an energetic and faithful worker, but has been obliged to relinquish all activity because of ill health. He was elected honorary president and Rev. H. L. Renville, acting president, with Wallace J. Barnes vice president.
