Walter Admiral Bromley was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington on June 26, 1923. His mothers name was Ruby Pearl Middlecoff and his fathers name was Walter David Bromley SR. He had two brothers, Jim and George and two sisters, Nina and Cleo. Walter worked for Boeing; he was a carpenter, boxer, and a machine gunner for the US Army and owned two taverns in his lifetime. He began his 43-year career at Ackerly Communications in his early 20’s. He married the love of his life, Lora Lee Bromley in 1956. Walter had 4 beautiful girls, Karen, Sharon, Sheryl and Linda. And 3 step Children, Cleone, Ronnie and Loren.
When Walter was 17, on December 7, 1941, he lost his brothers, Jim and George in the attack of Pearl Harbor. Walter never recovered from that tragedy. At the age of 20, Walter joined the Army as a machine gunner. As he recalls, the average life span of a machine gunner was only about 45 seconds. He wanted to join the Navy, but couldn’t because he was color blind. He fought in The Battle Of The Bulge and participated in The Invasion Of Normandy.
