Walter S Martin

Walter S. Martin, 59, of East Earl R1, died Saturday at 5 p.m. in his home. Death was unexpected although he had been ill for 3 years.

Born in Caernavon Twp, he was the son of the late Henry S. and Mattie Snader Martin.

He was a member of the Weaverland Mennonitc Church and taught Sunday School for many years prior to his illness.He was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Zimmerman Martin, and the following children: Wilmer E. Martin, Honey Brook R2;Walter C. Martin, New Holland R2; Charles R. Martin, New Holland; Sanford L. Martin, Ephrata R1; G. Marlene, wife of Leon E. Martin, Ephrata; and Linford and Miriam, at home; and a foster-son, Barry Alexander,serving with the U.S.Marines.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters: Misses Carrie and Lydia Martin, Samuel Martin, Lizzie, wife of Daniel H. Weaver, Aaron S. Martin and Charles W. Martin, all oi Ephrata.; Leah, wife of Reuben Hurst, East Earl R1; Edith, wife of Harvey Gingrich, Ephrata R1; and G. Eari Martin, Terre Hill Star Route.
