About Walter C Williams

WALTER C WILLIAMS, 72-year-old farmer and a lifelong resident of DeKalb County, died at 6:30pm at his home three miles south of Auburn on the Cemetery Road.

He died of complications and a heart ailment following an illness that extended over the past seven or eight years.

The body was removed to the Dilgard and Cline Funeral Home in Auburn for burial preparations and will remain for final rites at 2pm Monday.
The Rev HL Johnston pastor of the Auburn Church of the Nazarene will officiate at the services with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.

A native of the county Mr Williams was born May 2, 1879. His parents died when he was young, and he was reared by the late William Custer and his wife Minnie who now resides southeast of Garrett.

His first wife the former Elizabeth Kelster is now Mrs Elizabeth Bodger of Marion Ind. His second wife the former Mrs Molly Krontz survives with two sons Jofferry of Battle Creek Mich and Lewis of Union City Mich; a daughter Mrs Edna Mock of Butler; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mr Williams was a farmer most of his life but was employed for a few years at the Pennsylvania Railroad Shops in Fort Wayne and at the Auburn Automobile Co.

For 23 years he had resided on the farm south of Auburn.
