Washington married Nancy Perkins, who was the sister in law of his sister Lois Dodge Perkins at the time.

"Washington Dodge b. 6 March, 1778; in Newcastle, Me., where he lived till his death, 29 September, 1855. He was a farmer and cooper, and for many years an honored deacon of the Congregational church. He married 13 December, 1802, Nancy Perkins, b. at Newcastle, March 6 , 1783 and d. 9 May, 1867. She was a daughter of Abner Perkins, a farmer of Newcastle. Their children all settled in that part of Maine, except Mrs. Joshua (Caroline) Blenn, who died in California in 1858. All were comfortably situated and looked upon as among the best people."

iv. Emily, b. 17 Nov., 1810; d. 28 Jan., 1835; married William Kenniston of Booth.; d Jan. 28. 1835.

v. Richard, b. 12 April, 1814; married Maria Dodge.

vi. Nancy, b. 23 Aug., 1815; d. 21 Feb , 1838.

vii. Newell Atwood, b. 16 June, 1820; d. 18 April, 1877; married Thirza Ann Gond of Dresden, in Alna, Jan., 1846.

viii. Caroline Bailey, b. 27 Jan., 1824; d. 16 Aug., 1858; m. Joshua Blenn of Dresden, Dec, 1842.

ix. Cordelia Gardiner, b. 22 May, 1825; m. Wm. Heath, Ap. 16,1846."
