  • * discussion: This looks to be a family missing a husband but including children, John being the youngest. As our John was born circa 1775, maybe he is the"baby" of the family.
  • other text: These Kerrs are listed under "Cannin Quarter"

"The is known generally as Canoy, after the creek of that name. McFarquahar has now turned his face towards the river and is evidently traveling along the road leading from Elizabethtown to Galbraith's Ferry (now Bainbridge.)"
(towns near the Susquehanna)
So: We have this Kerr family's general locale... We need more details to find a match.

A close read of the wiki page reveals that the reporter in bold italics above was : Rev. Colin McFarquhar

  • The 1st Fed. Census of 1790, Donegal Township has (only) 9 pages with males 16 and over starting at 8833 and ending with 9302...That's 469 men of which only one is named Kerr. He is Andrew Kerr on page 9 w/ 4 females and no male children. This would be a match for the supposed son of Widow Kerr (above)
