Just as his father Willem was a well liked surgeon. He was assosciated with the Diakonesse house in Arnhem and to the Johanna stichting. After his death a Rennsen pavillion was built in honour of his father and Willem. Also a street in Arnhem was named after them, the Renssen street. He took over his fathers practice when his father died. He died on a holiday trip to Lago Magiore in Italy.
