Mr. William Franklin (Pete) Allee was born to John Chandler and Ila Mae Butler Allee on January 6, 1922.

Mr. Allee was raised and attended school in Austonio Texas with four brothers and four sisters.

On December 31, 1942 he entered the United States Army where he served in 71 st Combat Engineers in China, Burma, and India Theater. Mr. Allee endured many varied experiences in the three countries during WWII. Mr. Allee enjoyed sharing stories of his experiences in WWII. By and large he would tell of the funny things that took place in and around his unit. The mission of the 71 st Combat Engineers was to build floating pontoon bridges and maintain roadways in the region. This often placed him on close proximity to front line action, sometimes in front of it. When asked about his combat experiences he would generally find a way to interject humor into what were undoubtedly some very frightening and dangerous situations.

Mr. Allee was discharged honorably on November 26, 1945.

Mr. Allee met Ruby Helen Norris in Houston at a party given by a friend the weekend before Labor Day. They were married November 21st 1948. Raising children was a shared task, and joy, for them. They taught them to love God and their country and to trust their hearts, family and friends. They built and moved to their retirement home at Golden Acres at Houston Co. Lake in 1983. Mr. Allee and Ruby were active in community project and gatherings at Golden Acres and enjoyed many trips associated with the China, Burma, India Veterans Association. They enjoyed 46 years of life and love together before she was called home on June 2, 1995.

Mr. Allee worked as a machinist for Hughes Tool Co and Ethyl Corporation and retired in 1980 after 27 years with Ethyl Corp. Member of China Burma India Veterans Association. Member of American Legion Post #134 in Crockett. Past member of Park Place Masonic Lodge. Served as president of Golden acres property Owners Association.

Mr. William Franklin (Pete) Allee is the kind of man that America grew to greatness through. Mr. Allee was an unselfish family man that made a multitude of sacrifices so his family and countrymen would enjoy a better life with more freedom than the places he visited during WWII.

Mr. Allee always encouraged free agency toward his children as they grew and matured and enjoyed laughing, fishing, joking and hunting. Mr. Allee taught his children to respect life, freedom and nature through his actions and deeds. Always quick with a joke or a laugh, he was often the life of a gathering. Honesty, fairness, truth and charity were key elements to him and those traits have won him respect and friendship everywhere he has traveled.

Mr. Allee married Ruby Fae Hazelwood Funderburk on 31 December 1998. They shared a special need and bond for the 8 years they were married.

Mr. Allee passed from this earth at 10:35 on the morning of February 18th 2007. Mr. Allee will be deeply missed by a multitude of family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Ruby Fae Funderburk Allee, of Houston County Lake; daughter Cathy Helen Norris Allee, of Jacksonville; son James Marion Allee and wife Talitha (Nash) Allee, of Kenedy; grandson James B.
