I have two William Birdsalls, father and son. William the elder was one of Nathan Birdsall's 'seven sons of Matinecock, Long Island. I have him as b. 1650, c. 1726, and he married Mary ..?.
I have nothing else on him, except the one son:
William Birdsall, the younger: b.5/10/1698, and no wife's name or dates. But he was said to have had a son, Zadoc, born 8/20/1733 d. 8/17/1819, who married Lavinia Purdy. He left Matinecock and lived in several places before he settled in Newburgh, Orange Co. NY where he was a farmer. He's said to have had a large family, but I only have his son:
Moses Birdsall, b.1778, married Hannah Sutton b. 1770
Moses had a son, Joseph Sutton Birdsall. Joseph Sutton Birdsall moved from NY to Milford, Michigan, was married to Ruth Burton, and they had a passel
of kids, among whom was Horatio L. Birdsall, who won the Medal of Honor in the Civil War.
