A rogue if there ever was one. He assumed the title and manner of a knight calling himself Sir William and ran up debts fraudulently all over the country. This was a time when a 'gentleman' was given huge deference based on appearance and title. He was also a bigamist. The documents attached are transcriptions of various trials, proceedings, and newspaper articles relating to him. It is fascinating reading.
