William Cardinal

Chief Okanase 'Little Bones'(Michel/Michael Cardinal) was son of the historic fur-trading Cardinal family, he died 1870 is buried at Riding Mountain, MB.Chief Okanase' sister Margaret married George Flett.I am wondering if anyone has information about who are Michel/Michael Cardinal's parents.According to some information on the 'KEESEEKOOWENIN' website, Michel/Michael Cardinal had 3 wives.I am related to him through my maternal grandfather's side.My great grandfather was William (Okanase) Desjarlais/Cardinal.On scrip records it says:Cardinal, William born 1849 at Riding Mountain, MB father: Michel Cardinal (Metis) Mother: Lizette Slater (Metis); William married: 1866 to Mary Desjarlais; children living 9.When William came from Manitoba to Alberta he married his 2nd wife Isabell Cardinal (Frog Lake, AB) which is my grandfather James William Desjarlais mother.With the information i have so far there is no clear indication as to Michel Cardinal (Chief Okanase) 3 wives names, except for the Metis Scrip record for William Okanase/Desjarlais/Cardinal's record indicating the names of his parents, listing Lizette Slater as his mother, so could 'Lizette Slater' be the 2nd wifes name for Michel Cardinal.I also would like to find out who Michel/Michaels parents were, some information says that he was the son of Jacques Cardnal from the Yellowhead Pass area early 1800's (which would be Alberta)?.Is there anyone out there that may have information on this family?
