William "Robert" Comer

Robert Comer, one of the early settlers of this locality died February 18, 1919, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. D. Newland, Metz, Missouri, aged 79 years. [1900 census says he was born in Nov. of 1839 in Ohio]

The deceased has lived here for many years leaving here about a year ago, when his wife was sent to an institution of the feeble minded, to make his home with his daughter. He was a kind friend, good neighbor, and very considerate in all matters. Besides the wife, he leaves several grown children and many friends to mourn his death. The body arrived here yesterday, the funeral is being held at Cora today and the remains will be interred in the cemetery nearby.
