About William Davidson, Jr.
William Davidson, Jr. was the son of William Davidson, Sr., and his wife Martha Baker. He was born c.1777 in Botetourt County, Virginia. He married Jenny ?. He may have served as a constable in Botetourt County.
When the War of 1812 began, he enlisted in the army, rising to the rank of captain. His unit, Major Woodford's Squadron, served in the defense of Norfolk. After the war, William remained in Norfolk, becoming a prosperous merchant, and raising a family there.
William returned home when his mother died in early 1829, to settle the estate. He died there in late 1829.
