Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, at his residence.
Born Nov. 7, 1924, in Peoria to Thomas and Margaret McDonough Dunne, he married Mary C. Bodtke on June 25, 1955, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Carla Ann Hopke of Alexandria, Va., and Carrie Frances Daly of Chicago; one son, Curtis William of Washington, Ill.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Bob of West Peoria and Tom of Memphis, Tenn.; and two sisters, Margaret Mackey of Peoria and Eileen Jewel of West Peoria. He was preceded in death by four brothers.
A fireman for the city of Peoria for 34 years, he retired as a captain in 1986. He also worked part time for George Young and Sons in Peoria for 15 years.
He was a member of the City of Peoria Retirees and the Peoria Fire Fighters Retirees.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights, where services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Thomas Gibson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m.
Visitation also will be 30 minutes before services at the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
