Research Notes

Mary (Cook) Halbert (abt.1650-aft.1740) has been removed as the wife from from this profile. She does not fit either scenario with this birth date. William Sr. by consensus (not by sources) was born in 1635 and married Katherine Bank. He is considered to be the father William Halbert Jr. who married Mary, widow of Thomas Wood (many online trees say she was born Cook, but that is not supported).

Note: The mother of this William Halbert is Mary (Unknown) Halbert (1687-1737); his mother-in-law is Mary (Cook) Biswell (1680-1722). The profile that was removed as his wife was a confusion of those two and Mary Biswell, daughter of Mary (Cook) Biswell, whom this William, the son of William and Mary (Unknown) Halbert, is said to have married.
