About William Frederick Hull
William Frederick Hull, son of Henry and Sarah Hull, farmer of East Woodhay, Hants, was baptized there on March 9th., 1849. In the 1901 census, William 52, single, was a farmer in East Woodhay, with his mother, Sarah Ann 85 a widow, living with him. In Q1 of 1904 in Kensington district, William Frederick Hull married widow Bessie Hoddinott (Free BMD ref: 1a / 306) (1871 – 1918). William and Bessie farmed at West Woodhay, Berks (P.C.). At the 1911 census for Hatch House Farm, West Woodhay, Berks, William 62, Bessie 39 and their three children were enumerated, together with Lilian Hoddinott 13, William’s step-daughter. Lilian was a teacher in West Woodhay and, later, in Inkpen; she was the organist in West Woodhay church. On July 30th., 1918, Bessie Hull 47 was buried in West Woodhay (NBI-2). Later, William, a widower, retired from farming and retired in the little village of North End, Berks, nearby. On January 10th., 1939, William Frederick Hull 89 was buried in West Woodhay, St. Laurence (NBI-2). William and Bessie had issue.
