On Thursday evening Mr. William Gilchrist Lambert (of the firm of Parks and Lambert) died after a very brief illness, from exhaustion, induced by rheumatic, fever leaving n widow and six children to deplore their irreparable lots.

Mr Lambert enjoyed the esteem of all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance, and his death will be regretted in both commercial and private circles. His remains will be convoyed to the Cemetery this morning. and dep tilted * in their last resting place. The deceased holding high rank in the ancient and honorable order of Freemasons. the brethren of his Lodge -the Altland Lodge of Australia No. 941-will attend, although, in other respects the funeral will he a private one. Mr Lambert only thirty seven.
