William Lineberry

William Lineberry was born about 1750 in Brunswick, Germany to Jacob Leyenberger, Jr. and Catherine.

-William "Uncle Billy" Lineberry (as documented in Angela Lineberry Jenkins' "Lineberry" book)-

William, better known as "Uncle Billy", was a great Baptist preacher in his day and was loved and revered by everyone who knew him. He moved further down into present Chatham County where his descendants lived for several generations. Professor E. G. Lineberry of Raleigh was a descendant of Uncle Billy. There is a considerable family in Chatham County who are descendants of William Lineberry. They came to be known as the Chatham County Lineberrys.
