The present residence, now occupied by Mrs. Laura Ramsey, a grand-daughter, stands on the same spot where the first rude hut was erected more than ninety years ago. Mr. Lockard was married in 1833 to Sarah, daughter of John and Ann Maloy McBride, who was born April 13, 1813. Twelve children were the product of this union. Mr. Lockard died May 15, 1899, and that time there were living five sons, three daughters, thirty-five grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren."
