About William Mazvinsky

Mr. Mazvinsky was born Dec. 25, 1922, in St. Joseph and remained a lifelong resident. Bill graduated from Central High School in 1941. On June 10, 1962, he married Rose Berman. She survives of the home. He was self-employed as a home-builder, and the owner and operator with his wife, Rose, of Midland Building Specialties Co. He also owned Willy's Self Service Market. He was formerly employed with Townsend & Wall, Kotok's Market and Katz Drug Store. He served during World War II in the European Theatre in Austria with the U.S. Army Constabulery.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Sam Mazvinsky and Sophia (Smolly) Mazvinsky; and two brothers, Eddie Mazvinsky and Morris Mazvinsky.

He was a member of Temple B'nai Sholem, and served on the board of directors and as treasurer. He was the chairman of Chapter No. 393 of Service Corps of Retired Executives for two years; a life member of Pony Express American Legion Post No. 359; Zeredatha Lodge No. 189, A.F. & A.M.; 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason; Legion of Honor; Moila Shrine; and B'nai B'rith International No. 0073 Joseph Lodge. He was also an antique car collector, and miniature model car and truck collector.

Additional survivors: two step-sons, Phillip J. Geller of the home; and James Barry Geller, and his wife, Sandi of Tulsa, Okla.; his sister, Dorothy Kotok of Omaha, Neb.; his step-grandson; two stepgranddaughters; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Service: l p.m. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment: Shaare Sholem Cemetery. The family suggests memorial gifts to Shriner's Children's Hospital, Temple B'nai Sholem or a charity of the donor's choice.
