William C. McKinney was born March 29, 1870 in Texas County; died at his home near Bucyrus on Sept. 9, 1952, making his age at time of death, 82 years, 5 months, and 11 days.

He was married to Mary E. Upton in 1893 and to this union were born 8 children. Two of the children and his wife preceded him in death. Surviving children are: Mrs. Julia McGowen, Kingsville, Mo.; Earl of Houston; Robert and Denver of Bucyrus, and Grover of Independence, Mo.

He was united in marriage to Mary Morton, Aug. 10, 1923. To this union one child was born, Willard, who is stationed in France with the army.

He was a member of Bucyrus Baptist Church.

He was a farmer and life-long citizen of Texas County.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mary, and the above mentioned children, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-granchildren, one sister, Mrs. Anna Harris of Bucyrus, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Sept. 12, 1952 at Emery Church by Rev. J. R. Halbrook and burial was in the Emery Cemetery.
