About William Clarke Mitchell

BIRTH & BAPTISM First name(s) William Clark Last name Mitchell Sex Male Birth year 1880 Birth place Tatura Father's name Thomas Henry Mother's name Sarah Burton Registration number 25564 State Victoria

Dec 29 1955: William C Mitchell dies Wagga Wagga, and is buried in the Presbyterian section of the Wagga Wagga Monumental Cemetery. Is this him? The Mitchells were Anglican, so there is a good possibility this is a Scottish Mitchell, but, maybe. We know William was farming in the area for some time.

I have added a probate record for William Mitchell, farmer, who died near Rutherglen in 1931. There is a reasonable likelihood this was our William, although it would have helped if they had recorded his second name. He and his brothers hover around the Murray River on one side or the other, and William might well have come home to family at Rutherglen, or nearby if he was sick. He might also have been farming near Rutherford when he died. Don't know if he ever married.

William Clarke Mitchell seems to be living Malebo in the Wagga Wagga district. Conscientious objector in WW1. William Clarke Mitchell was a farmer at Malebo, NSW. These is different person I think.
