William Glenn Mitchell, 88, of Ellisville died June 28, 2003 at South Central Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Dr. Alan Woodward will officiate. He was a life long resident of Jones County and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He worked at Masonite Corp. in the technical division and was a farmer. He loved to work and grow day lilies. He was active in the community effort to get the community water system in Pleasant Ridge. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, John P. Mitchell and Althareta Watson Mitchell and a brother, Marvin Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Jimmie Mitchell of Ellisville; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jerry Mitchell of Donalsonville, Ga., Jerome and Charlotte Mitchell of Ellisville and Michael and Paula Mitchell of Winchester, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Chris Mitchell of Eufaula, Ala., Mark Mitchell of Bainbridge, Ga., Melody M. Pearce of Cordova, Tenn., Scott Mitchell of Donalsonville, Ga., Todd Mitchell of Enterprise, Ala., Kathryn Mitchell of Nashville, Tenn., Lee J. Mitchell of Ellisville and Bethany M. Lambert of Franklin, Tenn. and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
