William Moore's date and place of birth and parents are unknown. His headstone says he was aged 77 at his 1728 death.[1]
He married first to Mary (Wellman) Howard, widow of Thomas Howard, in Aug 1677.[2][3] Mary had 5 children with her first husband.[4]
“The maryag of Willyam More with Mary Howard the widow of Thomas Howard deceased was in Agust Ano: 1677 in Norwich, Connecticut.”[4]
William and Mary had children:
- Elizabeth Moore, born 20 Jul 1679,[4] married Daniel Edwards and had 7 children[3]

His first wife Mary died 3 Apr 1700 in Windham, CT.[8]
William More married on 17 July 1700 to Mary Allin/Allen,[2][8] widow of Joshua Allen.[3] Her maiden was Crowell[1] They were members of the Windham Church in 1726.[9] Mary, wife of William, died 18 Sept 1727 in Windham, Connecticut.[8]
William married 3rd, on 10 June 1728, to Tamar Simons[8] (or Tamerron Simmons).[3] He had no children by the second or third wife.[3]
William died in Apr 1729,[3] his headstone says that he had three wives, Mary, Mary and Tameron.
Notes
There is some confusion as to whether he died in Apr 1729 or 1728. If his gravestone is to be believed then he died before he married Tamerron (or Tamezon as his gravestone reads). It appears William did not have any children by Mary Allen or Tamerron Simmons.
Mary Wellman Howard had 5 children by her first husband, Thomas Howard:
- Mary (born Dec 1667)
- Sarah (born Feb 1669)
- Martha (born Feb 1672 and died about one month after)
- Thomas (born Mar 1673 and died in childhood)
- Benjamin (born Jun 1675)
18. Mary Crowell [347] (Yelverton3, John (Crowell)2, Unknown1) was born about 1653 and died on 18 Sep 1727 about age 74. Mary married Joshua Allen [348] [MRIN: 147]. Joshua died on 27 Dec 1699.
General Notes: Children by Allen: John, Joshua, Gideon, Miriam, Yelverton, Samuel, George, Eleazer and Sarah.
