A London businessman and the father of William Morris (1834-1896), q.v., who is buried at Kelmscott in Oxfordshire. The inscription reads : "Sacred to the memory of William Morris, Esqr., of Woodford Hall, who departed this life 8th. September 1847 aged 50 years, also of Emma, his widow, who fell asleep in Jesus on the 8th. day of December 1894 in the 90th. year of her age, and was buried in Much Hadham churchyard. Also Eliza Stanley, second daughter of Thomas Morris Eqr. PE (?) and Agnes Robina, his wife of Abbotsfield, County of Devon, and niece to the late William Morris Esqre. of Woodford Hall, who departed this life at Leyton House on the 12th. July 1858, aged 11 years".
