About William Oxley

Mary Thwinge was actually our William Oxley’s 1st Wife – Both the Goforth and Oxley families came from Yorkshire aboard the Flyboat Martha. After arriving at Burlington, Mary Thwinge and William Goforth both died – William Oxley then married Ann Skipwith Goforth and I believe the Goforth children were raised by William Oxley. source: personal email correspondence with Linda Colista, genealogy maven, descendant of Lemuel G. Harmer, and my 3rd cousin, twice removed

The Fly Boat Martha arrived in the new world in Sep 1677, carrying 114 passengers for the Yorkshire Tenth, at Burlington.
