About William Perrott

William Sailed on the Timandra in 1842. His Motherand Stepfather Samuel Crann and Half Siblings accompanied him amid steerage on board. He was Heir to ( Unknown Land or Titles) His Birth Certificate has never been released to our family despite years of trying! He was registered in the name of Crann in order to take him out of England! As an Heir there was both legal and moral objections which if discovered would of had repercussions! After resuming life In New Zealand and Marriage to Mary Anne Hurlestone (Perrott) he was awarded by Governor Sir George Grey Various Lands Titles deeds. His Rapport with Local Maori Tribes was amicable! Employed by NZ Railway to oversee the Railroad Between Waitara and Connecting line caused him to need to negotiate with Maori Chieftains. Removal of Fallen Warrior necessary and according to custom.this was acceptable! He fluently spoke the language and it was agreed that he would remove the Bones of these warrior's from the Skirmish A decade earlier! In doing so he and his men noted the great height of the Warriors! All done according to custom and Maori ceremonies. No activities outside of agreement ever took place!! All silly and wrongful stories circulated about need correction. His Daughter Caroline was Kidnapped! It was blamed on Maori as an Utu! Nz Railways closed Ranks and disavowed any knowledge of him.ever being in their employ! The Stigma attached to our family is in need of correction. After the long years when Caroline (queenie) was taken from their farm in lepperton His Wife Mary Anne Pined badly for her loss. Neither William or Mary Anne ever saw her again. Two of his older Sons found her with Tribal Wanderers in Kaipara! They did not tell their father! They left their parents to wonder in anguish till their Deaths! Noone really knows who abducted Queenie and Sold her off to obliging Nomadic Maori! Stories have been hatched to cover the truth which remains still unresolved. One only needs to read the Annuals to know the traditional story is fabricated! After Mary Annes Death due to severe malnutrition or Marasmus as it was known William Married again. One Maria Iddens nee Parsons!

Alone in the house one day when his wife was in town an assailant bludgeoned him severely about the head and later he died from.severe injuries. After his death quite conveniently his Home, estates disappeared from.the family. Thus all land rights titles and deeds from said lands dissappeared from the family. His Heirs May of had some already allotted as was lawful though we know the rest ended up in the hands of the second wife to deal with!! William was Not Afforded the rights of his birth..Nor treated in a manner becoming his stature in society. Nothing that is covered shall remain uncovered!! RIP Dear Great Great Granfather!
