From Bill Putnam's information on the Piggott family: http://www.billputman.com/THE%20PATTERSON%20FAMILY.htm
William Piggott was born on August 8, 1726. He was dismissed by the Nottingham Monthly Meeting on February 18, 1748/9 for he hath lately left these parts in a very dishonorable manner, without he knowledge of his creditors, to the scandal of truth and friends.' He skipped town. (Ben M. Angel notes: news probably didn't follow him to North Carolina, as he was welcomed into the Cane Creek Friends Meeting without apparent problems.) He married Sarah Pike in 1750 and died March 1, 1770.
