About William Montgomery Pyron
Served in Company F, 2nd Regiment, Georgia Calvary during the Civil War along with his sons James M. Pyron and John Maloney Pyron. The 1880 Alabama Census for Elmore County lists his occupation as Farmer & Miller. There is an obituary for him in The Banner, Clanton, Chilton County dated 9 Sep 1897.
While my site lists his parents as William C. Pyron and Nancy Crowell, I have no proof of this. Other sites have listed these individuals as William Montgomery Pyron's parents. William M. Pyron's marriage certificate to Eurrisa (possibly Eunice) Williams dated July 25,1841 in Mechlenburg County North Carolina lists a Green L. Crowell as a witness so that may be a connection to Nancy Crowell as William's mother.
Also, I have added Thomas Russell Pyron, born 3/13/1822, as a brother to William Montgomery Pyron, born 11/21/1821, which is undoubtedly an error because the dates are too close together. I am trying to resolve this apparent inconsistency.
James R. Pyron
