Isabella Livingston had two sons named William Ramsay: William "of Balmain" (by her 1st husband), and William of Edinburgh, husband of Janet Wycht (by her 2nd husband). This William does not match either of them; indeed, he has a middle name, and his surname is Ramsey instead of Ramsay.
3 October 1554: Notarial instrument narrating assignation by Brother Thomas Reid, a monk of Newbottle, to George Ramsay of Dalhousy of £10 scots due by deceased Nicholas Ramsay of Dalhowsy. (The executors of said Nicholas are named as Cuthbert Ramsay, captain of Creyentoun, James Ramsay, William Ramsay and Alexander Ramsay, rector of Fuldene, his sons).
