About William Read
William was born 3 February 1654/5 at Boston and was baptized the next day, 4 February 1654/5.[1] He was the eldest child of William Read and his 2nd wife, Ruth Crooke.[1]
The family had originally settled at Weymouth, but by 1646, they had removed to Boston in about 1646, where William's parents were admitted to the Boston Church on 15 May 1647.[1]
