Son of Elizabeth Wiltfong and John Reed. Husband of Mina Amelia Simcox m. 22 Jan 1890 South Bend, St. Joseph, IN.

WILLIAM N. REED William N. Reed, age 72, of 311 Jefferson avenue, passed away at 8:40 pm yesterday at the Holy Famiy hospital after an illness of several years. Death resulted from heart disease. The son of John and Elizabeth Reed, Mr. Reed was born near Sauktown, in Wills township, on Jan. 19, 1868. He had lived in LaPorte since 1918, moving here from Rolling Prairie. On Jan. 22, 1890, at South Bend, he married Simcox. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Golda Harness of Mill Creek and Mrs. Elsie Miller of LaPorte; three sons, John of LaPorte; Clifford and Everett Reed of Battle Creek; 18 grandchildren; one great-granchild; one brother, Frank Reed of LaPorte; five sisters, Mrs. Frank Schaffer, Mrs. George Bear, and Mrs. Schuyler Hooten, all of Mill Creek, Mrs. Willard Turley of New Carlisle, and Mrs. Fred Bennett of Rolling Prairie. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Friday at the Haverstock chapel. The Rev. E.L. Mitchelem will officiate and burial will be in Patton cemetery. The body may be viewed at the residence from this evening until 11 am, Friday and then at the Haverstock chapel from 12 noon Friday to the time of the services.
