About William Gerhart Reedy
William Reedy, 2043 Oak St., died yesterday afternoon in the Lebanon Valley General Hospital. He was 94 years old. Born in West Cocalico Twp., Lancaster County, he lived most of his life in Millbach. His parents were the late Jonathan and Hannah Gerhart Reedy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy S. Bamberger Reedy. Reedy was graduated from the Kutztown State Normal School in 1902 and taught public school in Lebanon County for 18 years. He was proprietor of the Millbach General Store from 1921 to 1966. For 37 years he was director of the Richland Branch of the National Central Bank. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Williamson 307, Womelsdorf, and had received his 50-year pin in May. He served as a justice of the peace in Millcreek Twp. for 30 years and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Millbach. There he served as superintendent and treasurer of the Sunday School and as choir director. He is survived by two daughters. Arlene Brown, Lebanon, and Isabelle, wife of David Powell, Greensboro, N.C.; one son, Marlin, Newmanstown RD 1; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
