About William Roberts, Jr.
WILLIAM ROBERTS, JR. - Most likely = Born 1887. Possibly about 1912 William immigrated to St. Thomas, Canada from Stratton, Cornwall, England with his Father's = William Roberts, Sr.'s older Brother's = John Roberts' Daughter & his 1st Cousin = Maud (Roberts) Rowland, Born 1889, who wanted to join her Sister = Edith (Roberts) Rowland, Born 1886, who had immigrated to St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada about 1910 with her Husband = Charles (Charley) Rowland, Born 1874, and their 2 year old Daughter = Rita, Born 1908, in Stratton, Cornwall, England. Possibly sometime before 1918, when World War I started, William Roberts, Jr. had immigrated to Oakland, California, USA following some Roberts Family Members there. Possibly William had written his 1st Cousins = Edith & Maud about California's year long mild climate compared to St. Thomas' long freezing blizzardy winters, as Charles & 7 months pregnant Edith with their 2 Daughters = Rita & Una, Born 1913, decided to follow William to Oakland, October 1918. Possibly William got a job with the US Government - maybe the US Navy in Alameda, which is located next to & just southwest of Oakland, as William ended up on Coronado Island = a US Navy base, in San Diego, California.
