The following article was posted on Find A Grave.com: Smashup Kills Couple, Once Salt Lake Residents - A former Salt Lake couple was killed in a two-car crash Tuesday at 3 p.m. near Klamath Falls, Oregon, it was learned Wednesday by Salt Lake relatives. Dead were William Chauncey (Billy) Rowe, 65, and his wife, Doris Isabelle Rowe, 56, of Portland, Oregon. Mr. Rowe was killed by the crash and his wife died Wednesday morning without regaining consciousness in a Klamath Falls hospital. The couple was en route to Los Angeles on the Dalles-California highway. Their automobile collided with a vehicle driven by Ernest Rand, Chiloquin, Oregon. Mrs. Rand was hospitalized with non-critical injuries.

Mr. Rowe, prior to moving to Portland, was a salesman of food products in Salt Lake City. He was associated with Monte Foods and Dalles-Rolat Distributing Company. Mrs. Rowe was born in Salt Lake City, a daughter of William R. and Nellie May West Foster. Surviving are three sons, Earl and Calvin Rowe, Portland; Chauncey Rowe, Washington, D.C., and a daughter, Marie McAnles, Almira, Washington, and three grandchildren. Mr. Rowe is also survived by a brother, Richard Rowe, and his mother, of Los Angeles, California.

Mrs. Rowe is survived by a brother, R.W. Foster, Los Angeles, and four sisters, Kate Natter, Bremerton, Washington; Alice Rumer and Ruth Natter, Salt Lake city, and Darlene De Laney, Los Angeles. both were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Per Find A Grave.com....William Chauncey Rowe was the son of William Henry Teasdel Rowe, born May 7, 1868, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and died January 14, 1934, in Los Angeles, California, and Etta Taft Webb rowe, born April 2, 1870, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and died August 1, 1961, in Hawthorne, California.

William Chauncey Rowe was married to Vera Hannah Oswald, born August 12, 1888, in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 23, 1909. They had one son, Chauncey Oswald Rowe, born March 31, 1910, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and died March 23, 1999, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Vera Hannah Oswald did October 5, 1970.

William married second Doris Isabell Foster, born in 1892, in Salt Lake City. They were married in 1915 and had the following children:

Earl, born October 19, 1916, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and died January 25, 1990, in Winter Garden, Florida

William Donald, born November 17, 1917, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and died May 18, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah

Doris Marie, born August 18, 1920, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and died July 20, 1966, in Salt Lake City, Utah

Lewis West, born August 13, 1926, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and died September 14, 1926, in Salt Lake City, Utah

Calvin Richard, born November 16, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and died April 6, 2012, in Spokane, Washington. He married Patricia E. Smith who was born in 1931, and she is still living in Oregon.
