According to Whitley, Served in Revolution. Settled in Henry County, VA after the war.

Moved to Henry Co, VA, then apparently to Rutherford Co, NC

The 1790 Rutherford Co census lists a William Rucker in the 11th Co (Sandy Run Creek area), with one male over 16, one male under 16 and 2 females.

The 1800 Rutherford Co, NC census lists a William ROOKER and a Mordecai RUCKER as HOH's.

The 1810 census lists William ROOKER only.

The 1820 lists two William Rookers (Ruckers), a Sr and a Jr (ie, older and younger). This one must have been the older and the one born 1797 the younger. It also listed a John and a Jesse as Heads of Household.

The 1830 census lists John ROOKER and William RUCKER.
