The following was taken from the Feb. 26, 1968 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:
W. W. Sampson, 72 of Rt. 3, Lumberton died suddenly at his home at 7:30 this morning. Funeral services are incomplete at this time.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Mary Frances Sampson of the home; two sons, William Connor and Wayne Howard, both of Rt. 3, Lumberton; two brothers, Bennie Bensal and Joey, both of Rt. 3, Lumberton; three sisters, Mrs. Ila Paul of Pembroke, Mrs. Bodie Locklear of Rt. 3, Lumberton and Mrs. Tessie Locklear of Pembroke; and three grandchildren.
He was a veteran of World War I, a farmer, and a deacon of the Mount Olive Baptist Church.
