William E. Schadewald

PETERSBURG--William E. Schadewald, 73, died Saturday morning at his home here.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Rosko-Miller Funeral Home, Petersburg, where funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Carl DeMerritt of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Lambertville will officiate. Burial will be in Deerfield Township Cemetery.

Born Aug. 14, 1920 in Blissfield, he was the son of William F. and Mary (Hegy ) Schadewald. He married Rhea Shirley on Nov. 7, 1942 in Palmyra.

He was self-employed at Schadewald Salvage Co. in Petersburg for 35 years, retiring in 1982. He also operated Schadewald Stables for 20 years.

He belonged to the Harness Horsemen International Club and the North Blissfield Lutheran Church, before transferring to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Petersburg.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Lawrence E. of Petersburg and Frederick E. of Murphy, N.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Barbara) Murdock of Petersburg and Mrs. Roy (Janet) Wiebusch of Saline; four brothers, Norman, Don, Charles, and Stanley; four sisters, Glenda Shirley, Maybelle Berry, Donna Case, and Carol Lash; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth Lee, and two sisters, Mary Disbrow, and Hazel Seegert.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Monroe or St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
