William T. Scott

William T. Scott, farmer, is a son of Archibald and Catherine (Purcell) Scott, born in 1792 and 1801 respectively. They came to this county quite young, and here were married and followed agricultural pursuits. The father was a soldier in the war of 1812, and both he and his wife were members of the Presbyterian Church. He died in 1873. The mother yet lives.

William was born in Knox County, Ind., and is of Irish-Dutch descent.

They had ten children: Catherine, Andrew, Anna, John, Jane, Alice, Morton, Cora. Rosette and an infant deceased.
