About William 'Trapper' Terry, II
William "Trapper" Terry, II
Not the same as William Terry the husband of Rachel Terry
A descendent of that William Terry, his son John Terry wife Esther Brown Terry had three of his son's DNA come back as Haplogroup I-02 (my own fathers was U-2a2). A Jasper Terry who married Mary Hart also shared this haplogroup. The line of Jasper Terry who married Mary Morrison, however, revealed a haplogroup of G-02.
The Terry's clustered in Halifax, Pittsylvania, Louisa, and up and down that eastern range of VA and into NC, SC, AL, GA etc. returned a haplogroup of I-01 - indicating some familiar connection - maybe a generation or so back - but not as close as the assumed Wm/Rachel line and the Jasper/Mart Hart Terry line.
