He served in the Civil War from 1863 to 1865. The 1850 Lake Co., Indiana Census shows Lyman, Lucinda and 5 children. Sorry for the confusion I have caused you. A great family. He lived with his grandather, Jonathan Thompson of Shelby Co., Indiana after his father's death. There is a book about the Thompson Family, writted in 1936 by a Judge Thompson that would be great for you to read. Many Indiana libraries have a copy.
