Some sources cite a "John Waters" as born in 1583 to William Waters and Alice Canon, but there is no christening record. Perhaps this is an error for the later-born John Waters, or perhaps the original John was a twin to William and did not live long enough to be christened.

There is no further mention in the records of this William Waters. Some sources claim a death date of 1584.
