1675: Accepted a French commission of war against Spanish new world colonies

1680-82: Captured Spanish transport ships containing sugar and tobacco

1682: Retired in French Hispaniola, which is now Haiti

1690s: Settled in France, because of friendly dealings with the French government.

Circa 1700: Died and buried in France.
