MEMORIAL PHOTOS 0 FLOWERS 0 Thomason Feb 25, 1932 - Dec 18, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Wilma Fulks Thomason, age 81, of Oklahoma City, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 10 at Mayflower Congregational Church, 3901 NW 63rd St., Oklahoma City. The Reverend Dr. Robin Meyers will be officiating. There will be a reception in the church parlor. Wilma graduated from Classen High School in 1949 and from the University of Oklahoma in 1953 (Dean's Honor Roll). Wilma was preceded in death by parents, Willard Gordon Fulks and Eddie May Fulks; and by her sister, Geraldine Fulks Sheppard. Wilma worked for Modern Woodmen of America for many years as a District Representative in Sales and was the top salesman in the U.S. for Modern Woodmen for five of those years. She was also a nationwide motivational speaker for Modern Woodmen of America, inspiring many to pursue their dreams and goals. Wilma was very active in the community and in the Mayflower Congregational Church. She was also a member of the Oklahoma City Orchestra League, the Civic Music Organization, and the Oklahoma City Home Builders Association. Wilma enjoyed playing golf with members of the Oklahoma City Women's Golf Association and the Business Women's Golf Association at the Coffee Creek and Silver Horse golf courses. She was an avid follower of the O.U. women's basketball and softball programs. Wilma generously donated funds to her beloved Oklahoma University and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Wilma Thomason is survived by her nephew, Monte G. Sheppard; and nieces, Melissa Norvell Gere and Carlene Kingery. She is also survived by cousins, Darliene Norvell and Annette Fisher. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Oklahoma City YWCA Women's Domestic Violence Shelter. The family would like to express its deepest appreciation to Caregiver Connection, Home Instead, Faith Hospice and all those who helped with Wilma's care, making it possible for her to remain in her home.
