Pam

This is a round about way to do it but the only Elisa Hearne I can find in the LA area was the son of Moses Hearne and look where they all lived in 1870 I think he is probably the one who married Winnie Aldridge in 1860 (possible daughter of Thomas P Aldridge) and most

likely to have all moved south in the 1860's with the rest They are in the middle of the Arledge, Grangers, Holmes and others Maybe !! I will continue

Dear Joy:

I did find your Moses HEARNE in the 1870 Census of Calcasieu Parish, but it states Moses and Melinda were both from Georgia. Same family, right? They lived next to A. J. HEARNE and his wife, Catherine. They had living with them a D. Hl WILFORD b. AR and his wife, Melinda b.AL with their child, Mary b. in LA.

I checked the homestead and cash sale CD for Louisiana and found a Moses HEARN who acquired 159.19 acres in 1856 near Oak Grove, LA. Yours?????

I can make no connection with the other HEARNEs we have buried in our local cemetery. They were:

Charles Dennis HEARNE ( 23 JUL 1907-8 MAR 1940)
Eliska Clara HEARNE (nee:CARLIN) (11 JUL 1873-2 FEB 1955)
Luna M. HAYES (nee: HEARNE) (27 AUG 1904-3 SEP 1969)
Alma M. GRIGG (nee: HEARNE) (2 AUG 1902-7DEC 1962)
William Michael HEARNE (15 DEC 1866 in Ireland-4 OCT 1941)

All are buried in Orange Grove/Graceland Cemetery in Lake Charles.

Good luck in the hunt!

Anna Marie Hayes

The arents of Elisha Hearne were Moses Hearne and Malinda Jourdan

His siblings were James - Salita - Martin Van Buren Hearne -Asa -

Malinda

Elisha, Salita, Asa, William, Malinda were all born in Calcasieu

between 1827 and 1847

The parents came from Alabama

Thanks for looking

JOY

I have not found any records of Elish Hearne in the area but there is record of an Elisha Hearne living in Calcasieu I have looked there but have been unable to find any other records of him. Where did they go?
