About Winnie Howes (Russell)
Winnifred was born in Jay, ME to Alice Bean. Following her birth, her mother married Frank Hiram Russell and moved to Massachusetts. Winnie was homesick so she returned to Jay and continued to live there with her grandparents, Dudley and Elvira Bean until their deaths. When she married Will Howes in 1897, she continued living in the same home with her aunt Ella Bean Moulton. She continued to live here up until Ella's death in 1937 and then until her death in 1944, when the house was then passed to her daughter Marion.
The identity of her father is unknown, but it may be Ferdinand Jordan, who was later married to her aunt Frankie Bean. Ferdinand and Frankie were later divorced, but even after this he continued to stay around Winnie and her family. There is also a resemblance between Winnie and Ferdinand's daughters Glennie and Ada, as well as Ferdinand himself.
